Dot Not Round

The dot appears to different people in many different ways due to the way your eye bends the light. The dot could appear that way due to many reasons such as the shape of your eye, focusing on the dot, the dot intensity, the ambient lighting conditions, how much your eye is dilated, etc. To test this, take a piece of paper and poke a small hole through it and look through the hole into the sight and you should see the dot almost perfectly round. Or, if it’s mounted onto an AR with a backup iron sight, co-witness the dot with the small rear aperture. You could also use a digital camera (or the camera on your phone) to take a picture of the dot to show you what the dot truly looks like.
